Capt. Mark Liberman Fishing Unlimited (941) 964-0907
Now that the election is over and the airwaves are finally clear of the constant political ads, It’s time to get to the important things! With the passing of the smaller class size amendment, I wonder where the money is going to come from? Trust me, I’m all for a better education for our children. I just wondered where the cuts are going to fall! What state services can we do without? Or what polices will be changed to help in the effort to save enough money to help pay for the qualified teachers to fill the new classrooms that must be built? How much of a tax hike are you willing to take? Can the less fortunate afford the same percentage of the burden? You don’t have to look very far back to see where I’m going with this. The state just hired a bunch of new wildlife officers, Will there funding be cut back so they can’t do there jobs? It’s one thing to pass laws; it’s another to enforce them! I only hope that our newly elected officials in Tallahassee can find there way to an appropriate and equitable solution! Mullet season is upon us, so the wildlife officers will be out in full force from now until the end of the year! Hopefully by then Gov. Bush can come up with a plan that will work for us all! The fishing has been very consistence, snook and redfish have been plentiful and bait has been easy to catch. Look for the snook to make a move further towards the backwater and bayous with this passing cold front. Spanish Mackerel and King mackerel have been around for a month or so, and there have been quite a few cobias along the beach! So call up your favorite guide and enjoy a day of fall fishing! And as always remember, "Good fishing is where you find it!"
